Alex Yearsley is a Principal Planner situated in our London office. Since joining Bell Cornwell in 2021, he has been involved with a range of projects spanning a diversity of sectors, providing advice to both private and public organisations.
Expertise
He specialises in residential, educational and mixed-use development and is adept at advising on matters in the Green Belt. His services include land promotion, appraisals and the management of planning application submissions and appeals. Alex has also worked on several heritage-based developments and is well versed at compiling Listed Building Consent applications and Heritage Statements.
Experience
Having worked in both the private sector and Local Authority, Alex has a broad range of planning experience. His career began as a Planning Officer for Westminster City Council which provided him with a well-rounded perspective of planning that still serves him today. In 2014 he sought out private consultancy work because of his drive to produce planning solutions for clients and to ensure development is delivered.
Education
Alex received a degree in Geography and Urban & Regional Planning (BSc) from the University of Birmingham. He went on to study his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning (MSc) at Birmingham too, graduating in December 2012. He became a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute whilst working as a consultant in 2016.
