We are thrilled to have recently obtained another permission for residential development in Waverley!
Bell Cornwell advised our client from the outset, setting out a planning strategy to maximise the development potential of the site. We appointed the various specialists and managed the preparation and submission of the application for the erection of 6 dwellings, together with associated works to form a vehicular access, following the demolition of the existing buildings on site. This latest consent takes the total number of residential dwellings on this site to 11.
The site, being located outside of the settlement boundary of Haslemere, is designated as Countryside beyond the Green Belt, AGLV and the Surrey Hills National Landscape (formerly AONB). We made a robust case to the Local Planning Authority that the site constituted Previously Development Land and that the dwellings would be located in a sustainable location within walking distance of the amenities of Haslemere.
The proposal received resounding support from Waverley Planning Officers and the Surrey Hills Planning Adviser. The dwellings will take on a traditional appearance, alongside contemporary elements. It was concluded that the scheme would assimilate into its setting and conserve the wider landscape character. Using a design led scheme prepared by Lytle Associates, the proposal successfully balances a sensitive approach with a high-quality finish, achieving open plan living, garden space and excellent sunlight levels.
