Rebecca Boyde MRTPI, in our Cornwall office, has received confirmation from Cornwall Council that prior approval is not required for the change of use from Class E (Commercial, Business & Service) to Class C3 (Residential).

Our team provided comprehensive information confirming that the proposal complied with Class MA of The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended). Through close collaboration with officers at the council, a vacant building can now be brought back into productive use and provide much-needed accommodation in the area.

This is another great example of how permitted development rights can be used to make efficient and effective use of existing buildings, without the cost and time involved in a full planning application.

At Bell Cornwell, we take pride in our ability to navigate the intricacies of the planning system with expertise and efficiency. Our in-depth knowledge of legislation, combined with a collaborative approach, allows us to deliver successful outcomes for our clients.

Prior Approval not required for change of use

At Bell Cornwell, we leverage our experience and local knowledge to overcome planning complexities. This helps translate our clients’ visions into reality, creating prosperous spaces that respect an area’s unique needs and character.
