Delivering planning solutions for a wide variety of development schemes in both urban and rural areas
Andy Boothby is an Associate and works in our Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire offices and joined Bell Cornwell in 2022. Andrew undertakes planning appraisals, applications and appeals on behalf of his clients and provides key advice at all stages of the process.
Expertise
From pre-application advice to appeals, Andy has experience managing a wide range of planning proposals, including residential, commercial, education, employment and mixed-use development. In particular, Andy has expertise dealing with applications in the Green Belt, which is a common issue to tackle in the Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire areas. This includes instances where development has required Very Special Circumstances arguments to be advanced.
Experience
He has previously worked in both the public and private sector, first as an officer with St Albans City & District Council, and then for a planning consultancy based in Hertfordshire. His time in local authority provided him with an outlook that still serves his day-to-day work, however, it was his drive to produce tangible solutions that saw him move to consultancy back in 2015.
Education
Andy obtained a Masters Degree in Planning Policy and Practice from London Southbank University and has been a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute since 2016.
